Formed in 1988 by a group of classic car enthusiasts, the club caters for enthusiasts and owners of any type of classic vehicle, from the very old to quite modern "classics to be".
As the current manager of the Boars Head is retiring at the end of 2016, the owners have decided to close the pub for a "short time" to refurbish it. As we can't be sure how long that will be, the club will be moving to a different venue for the December 2016 meeting, the Hunters Lodge on Sydney Road in Crewe.
The club holds regular monthly meetings, at the Boars Head pub in Walgherton, near Nantwich. These meetings usually take the form of a "noggin and natter", where members just get together for an evening out. Sometimes we'll hold a quiz, or maybe show a video - members are welcome to bring something appropriate that they think might be interesting. Recently we've also been doing some evening road runs to other local gatherings, including the local VSCC meeting and an HRCR event.
Other social events include a popular skittles night, and whatever anyone can think of. Members are encouraged to suggest (and organise!) social events.
As well as social events, the club attends many local and not-so-local classic car shows, ranging from the smaller local shows at Marbury, up to national gatherings such as the Donington Historic Festival and Oulton Park Gold Cup, with large classic shows such as those at Tatton Park, Bodelwyddan Castle and Cholmondeley Castle in between.
Joining the club costs only £14, reducing to £12 for renewals. A copy of our membership application can be downloaded from here in Adobe PDF format.
